CAD Development & Technical Drawings
A core part of my role at Rutland Steel & Fabrication involves developing CAD models and producing technical documentation for manufacture. Working closely with customers, fabricators and management, I create manufacturing drawings, fabrication packs, cutting lists and assembly information that translate design requirements into clear and practical instructions for production.
C02 Laser Operations
I am responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company’s C02 laser cutting department, including nesting, NC programming and production planning. This involves optimising material utilisation, troubleshooting cutting issues and continuously refining machine parameters to improve cut quality, efficiency and overall manufacturing performance.
Manufacturing Improvement & Process Development
Alongside production responsibilities, I actively identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, drawing standards and workflow systems. Projects have included redesigning fabricated components to reduce welding operations, developing job-tracking processes and implementing documentation standards that improve consistency across design and manufacturing activities.
