Product Analysis & Reverse Engineering
This project began with the disassembly and analysis of a Bosch hot glue gun to better understand its construction, assembly methods and component integration. By measuring and documenting the existing product, I explored the challenges of translating physical geometry into accurate CAD models while developing an understanding of how consumer products are designed and manufactured.





CAD Development & Redesign
Following the reverse engineering process, the product casing was remodelled in CAD and redesigned to improve manufacturability and demonstrate advanced modelling techniques. The project involved recreating complex surfaces, developing detailed assemblies and producing geometry suitable for manufacture, providing valuable experience in CAD development and product reconstruction workflows.

CNC Manufacturing & Final Outcome
The final design was prepared for manufacture using CNC machining processes, transforming the digital model into a physical component. This stage of the project demonstrated the complete workflow from physical product analysis through to CAD development and manufacturing, highlighting the importance of accuracy, tolerancing and design-for-manufacture considerations throughout the engineering process.
